It’s located on one of the Great Lakes & known as the “birthplace of rock and roll.”

The restaurants, variety of metro parks, bike paths, and trails.

Location Analysis

Catharine joined our growing Healthcare division this year to support the work that Causeway associate Tim Duer started in 2021. Given their focus on this very important category, we decided to compare the healthcare rankings of their respective homes by looking at Catharine’s Ohio home compared to Tim’s New Jersey location.

First, we looked at health outcomes which are things like medical assistance, surgery, and emergency services. It turns out Catharine’s and Tim’s locations are not all that different. Tim’s county of residence ranked 15th out of 21 while Catharine’s ranked 67th out of 88.

Next, we looked at health factors which are those things that contribute to a person's likelihood for disease or health issues like rest, exercise, and environment. Tim’s county ranked 11th here [out of 21] versus Catharine’s county which ranked 53rd out of 88 again showing that despite residing in different states, their respective health rankings are close.

Despite both of our healthcare staff’s residents ranking lower than other counties in their states, they still rank significantly higher than some of the counties in southeastern states who are below her in the national average, with an average life expectancy of about 77 years, close to the national average of 78.8 years.

Looking further into other local health stats, we found that 98% of people in Catharine’s area have access to exercise opportunities compared to only 83% for Tim while only 25% of adults in the Ohio county report NOT having leisure-time physical activity (compared to 28% in New Jersey). It seems like those bike paths and trails come in handy for exercise and good health!
